Committee on the Rights of the Child tells another 9 states to abolish all corporal punishment

At the end of its 33rd session in Geneva in June 2003, the Committee on the Rights of the Child issued concluding observations on initial or second reports from nine states on progress towards implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. In each case it expresses concern at persisting acceptance of corporal punishment and recommends prohibition coupled with awareness-raising and public education. For full details click here.
