Committee on Rights of the Child 32nd session: 7 States told to do more to eliminate all corporal punishment

At the end of its 32nd session in January 2003, the Committee on the Rights of the Child issued concluding observations recommending explicit prohibition of all corporal punishment, linked to education, to the Czech Republic, Viet Nam, Romania, Republic of Korea and Estonia. It told Iceland and Haiti that they should ensure that existing statutes prohibiting corporal punishment are effective through awareness-raising and education campaigns.
