2007 revision of All Africa Report on Corporal Punishment – available now

In April 2006, the Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children and Save the Children Sweden jointly published a report on corporal punishment of children across Africa, as a contribution to the UN Secretary General’s Study on Violence against Children. This report has been updated and revised and is now available on this website (see link below).

The report covers the international and regional human rights standards applicable in African states, prevalence research and research on the views and experiences of children in Africa, examples of the promotion of positive discipline in the region and a summary of the legality of corporal punishment in each African state.
